Photography Business?
I want to open a photography business, portaits to be exact, and I am wondering about wallets, everyone likes the pre cut ones with rounded corners. Are they printed at somewhere like walgreens or would I have to get a special printer? or how would I get them printed like that???

- Have you done your research, do you have a business plan, marketing plan, enough money to pay the overhead and your personal expenses for at least six months? My guess is you may want to take your plan to SCORE and let them guide you through the setting up of a business. Sole proprietorship, LLC? Actually, I would suggest you go to work for a portrait photographer and learn the business from the ground up. All these little niggling questions would be answered after only a few months working with a successful portrait photographer. The Rangefinder Magazine is a good resource for professional supplies and photo labs.
- IF you are thinking about opening a portrait business, Walgreen's should not even be in the same sentence! If you are not going to purchase your own package printer, you need to find a good, professional lab. I'm sure they will offer rounded corners.
- The good pros I know use a professional lab to print their work. Write a business plan and go from there. A few years photography school would be helpful. a
- Well most photographers use printers of their own. You can actually print about 6 wallet sized portraits on a single sheet of photopaper, and then you can go out and buy corner rounder at your local scrapbooking store. I suggest you do more research before you open up your own business. You cant depend on wallgreens to do all of your photography business. You need to get your own printer.
- dont even think of using walgreens... quality is to poor... there are some great pro labs online.... to echo Ace, rangefinder is an awesome resource to utilize.... make sure you have LOTS of money to start.. its an expensive business- and not really something you can start on a shoestring budget {personal experiance talking right here ;) } ~*
- i send almost all my pictures out to a lab called white house there website is whcp.com. they have excellent prices and do die cut in wallets
- Go to Mpix.com and open a free account. Their prints are awesome and they have color-correction
