How do you upload digital pictures onto a website?

How do I upload pictures from my digital camera onto the computer? I'm not good a technical things and I really need step-by-step instructions. Please don't assume I know anything about uploading pictures. If you know how to do it or you can refer me to a website giving very specific instructions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

1. You should have a disc with appropriate software to do this which came with your camera, Read the instructions before doing anything. If not connect camera probably by USB (little flat plug) and lead supplied. Do this before powering up your computer. Go to my pictures in XP and follow the instructions on screen.
